CS Hyde is a supplier and converter of PTFE Tapes made with Teflon™ Fluoroplastic. PTFE (Teflon®) is one of the most chemically inert materials available and it does not support combustion, has a low coefficient of friction, and there are few substances that will stick to its surface. CS Hyde PTFE tapes have unique properties including non-stick, anti-friction, anti-static, high temperature resistance, and chemical resistance. PTFE tapes can either be coated with Teflon™ PTFE or constructed from skived or tensilized PTFE Film. Skived PTFE Tape is made by slicing natural PTFE into layers to achieve nominal thickness. Tensilized PTFE is made by stretching PTFE Fibers, this process helps create PTFE tape with high density or high tensile strength.
The most common PTFE coated tape is PTFE Coated Fiberglass or also know as “PTFE heat tape”. PTFE Fiberglass tapes consist of woven fiberglass fibers coated with Teflon™ PTFE. These tapes are widely used in packaging applications on heat sealers to seal bags or other similar products. PTFE Coated Fiberglass tapes are available with different grades of coating including: Standard and Ultra-Premium grade with either silicone or acrylic adhesive. Other PTFE coated tapes include Optically clear FEP Tape, FST Tape, R-Tape (Roller Tape), Para-Arimid Kevlar® Tape and TFL Laminate Tape.
CS Hyde supplies skived PTFE tape with high bond acrylic, standard acrylic and silicone adhesive in a thickness range (.002” to .010”). Thick gauge PTFE tape or “FAT” PTFE Tape is also available in a thickness ranges (.020”-.125”) with either acrylic or silicone adhesive.
